Automotive Mechanic

 

DC Recruiting is looking for candidates with automotive experience to work at a shop in Haldimand County. 310T and 310S mechanics and unlicensed candidates are welcome to apply. See the job description below and apply if this is a fit for you.

 

Main Duties:

  • Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor.

  • Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems including fuel system, brakes, steering and suspension, engine and drive train, emission control and exhaust, cooling and climate control, and electrical and electronic systems using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment.

  • Move tools, equipment, and other materials to and from work areas.

  • Assist in repairing, maintaining, and installing industrial machinery and equipment.

  • Assist in mechanical, electrical and body repairs of automobiles, trucks, and heavy equipment.

  • Perform other labouring and elemental tasks as required.

Employment Requirements:

Automotive experience is a must.

310T or 310S mechanics are preferred.

Hours:

Monday to Saturday for 40 hours per week

 

Wage:

$25-$35 per hour – depending on experience and/or certification

DZ Delivery Driver

Front Counter Advisor

DC Recruiting is seeking a Front Counter Advisor to work at a great company in Haldimand County. The Front Counter Advisor will be the first contact for all contractors, builders, and residential customers. The Counter Staff Advisor must have the ability to effectively communicate to customers and coworkers, gaining an understanding of customer needs, as they pertain to the construction industry, and meeting those needs in an optimal fashion.

Main Duties:

  • Welcomes customers by greeting them as they enter the store and offering assistance: includes in person and phone questions.

  • Direct, and when able, lead customer to the proper location of requested products.

  • Advise clients by providing knowledge of products and services: using resources where required.

  • Assist customer to make optimal selections for their specified project.

  • Document sale by following proper in-house sales procedure.

  • Ability to use POS system.

  • Inform customers of sale status and additional merchandise that may be of potential interest.

  • Ensure the availability of products and services through inventory checks and stocking shelves as levels required.

  • Maintains store and office areas to ensure cleanliness and organization.

  • Assists other departments within the store as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience and knowledge with related products and services.

  • Vocational training is an asset.

  • Construction experience is an asset.

  • General math skills.

Lead Installer

DC Recruiting is currently searching for a Lead Installer for a growing company in Caledonia, Ontario. Work is centered around custom exterior carpentry such as installing windows and doors, siding, soffit, fascia and seamless eavestrough.

 

Main Skill Proficiency:

  • Install soffit, eaves and facia, with no oil canning

  • Install windows and doors including capping and trim with precise mitres

  • Bend and install multi step gable facia, with no oil canning

  • Install seamless eavestrough with hand cut mitres. Install outlets and downspouts

  • Prep and set up duties, before install, including: bending drip edge, installing starter strip, vinyl or aluminum corner posts and/or J trim. Layout wall siding according to plans

 

Other Related Skills:

  • Skillfully and safely operate hand & power tools

  • Material and Tool Management: Maintain supply lists; ensure tools are available, maintained and in good working order

  • Pick up and deliver required materials to job sites ongoing

 

Employment Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of experience with residential renovations

  • Able to lift up to 70 pounds

  • Sound knowledge of the Ontario Building Code

  • Excellent attendance and communication

  • Exceptional customer service

  • Lead by example, honest and ethical with high performance standards

  • Fluent in English

  • Ability to effectively communicate with other trades/vendors, clients, and co-workers

Carpenter/Framer

DC Recruiting is searching for a Carpenter/Framer in Caledonia, Ontario. Work is centered around interior renovations and some outdoor work such as framing and building new decks and pergolas.

 

Main Duties:

  • Read and accurately interpret plans/drawings/blueprints and organize materials accordingly.

  • Carpentry duties to include; Demolition & rebuilds, framing, load bearing wall removals, support beams, window and door installation, HVAC preparation, trim work, drywall, trim, finishes.

  • Hands on; measure, cut, assemble, and join mouldings, woodwork, install drywall, fit and install hardware, build walls, install vanities, storage units etc.

  • Outside duties including building decks, pergolas and other outdoor structures.

  • Skillfully and safely operate hand & power tools.

  • Pick up and deliver required materials to job sites ongoing.

 

Employment Requirements:

  • Completion of an apprenticeship program and/or 3-5 years of experience with residential renovations.

  • Sound knowledge of the Ontario Building Code

  • Experience with residential renovations

  • Ability to prioritize tasks.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with other trades/vendors, clients, and co-workers.

  • Ensure worksite is clean and compliant as per safety rules, regulations, and company policies.
